The heart of the Advanced Steel Technology production facility is its line of oxy-fuel laser cutting, gas cutting and plasma cutting machines. These computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines, have from 8 to 32 cutting torches each for steel fabrication and metal cutting. They are connected by fiber optics. These laser cutting & plasma cutting machines can burn up to 4 steel plates at once. State of the art technology gives AST the capability to cut heavy steel plate to the most exacting specifications.
AST Engineers can design and enter parts & specifications into the company's proprietary Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) system, ensuring that each steel part is cut to the same exacting specifications and precise dimensions. The part specifications are fiber optically downloaded from the Computer Aided Manufacturing system directly to the machines. This expedites production and increases reliability.
